Terms of Service
Effective 11 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Techtronics Company, which operates LectureCam ("LectureCam", "we", "us") for using the LectureCam apps and website. By creating an account or using LectureCam, you agree to them and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use LectureCam
You must be at least 13 years old, and we ask your date of birth the first time you sign in to check it. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and approve any purchase; they accept these terms for you and for themselves, and are responsible for your use. In the iPhone and iPad apps, purchases by a child can be controlled with Apple's Ask to Buy.
Your account
You need an account to use LectureCam. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us at support@lecturecam.com if you think someone else has access to your account. An account is for one person, and you are responsible for what happens under it.
On Pro and Pro Plus, one phone, one tablet and your computers can be signed in at the same time (the number of computers is shown on our pricing page); the free plan allows two devices in total, such as your phone and your tablet. On the free plan, when two devices are already signed in, a phone or tablet that signs in signs out the one used least recently, and a computer cannot be added until one is signed out. On every plan, signing in on another phone signs out the phone you were using, and the same goes for tablets. Your notes are kept on your account, not on a device, so nothing is lost by switching.
To keep the free plan fair, we limit how many accounts can be created on one device. An account created beyond that limit is suspended automatically; the screen explains why and how to appeal. An email address that has just been changed cannot be changed again for 30 days.
Using LectureCam
We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use LectureCam for your own studies, as long as you follow these terms. You agree not to:
- upload anything illegal, or anything you do not have the right to upload;
- upload images that focus on identifiable people without their consent where the law requires it, or content that is sexual, violent, hateful or harassing;
- upload other people's personal or confidential information that you are not entitled to share, such as identity documents, medical or student records, private messages, or exam papers and other material your institution keeps confidential;
- use LectureCam to cheat in a way your school or course does not allow;
- try to break, overload, probe or get around the security or limits of the service;
- copy, scrape, resell or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- use someone else's account, or share yours.
Some schools and universities do not allow lectures to be photographed, or AI tools to be used for coursework. Check your institution's rules before you use LectureCam.
Your content
Your photos and notes belong to you. So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content — including sending it to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to produce your notes and to check it against these terms — only as needed to provide LectureCam to you. That permission ends when your content is deleted for good — after the 30 days in which deleted notes and closed accounts can still be restored — apart from copies we must keep for legal reasons and backups that expire on their own schedule.
You are responsible for having the right to photograph and upload what you capture. Lecture materials may belong to your lecturer or institution, so follow their rules about recording and sharing them. Your notes are private to you: we do not publish them or show them to other users. If you export or pass on notes made from someone else's material, such as a lecturer's slides, you are responsible for doing so only as their rules and copyright law allow.
Our apps
The LectureCam apps, website, design, name and logo belong to us or to those who license them to us. These terms give you the right to use them, not to own them.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve LectureCam without owing you anything for them. This gives us no right to your photos or notes.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something stored in LectureCam copies your work without permission, write to our copyright agent at support@lecturecam.com. Tell us:
- who you are and how to reach you;
- which work is yours;
- where it is in LectureCam, in enough detail for us to find it;
- that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, the owner's agent or the law;
- that the notice is accurate and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
- your signature (a typed name is enough).
We act on valid notices promptly — within 48 hours where Malaysian law requires — by removing or disabling the material, and we tell the account it came from. That account can send us a counter-notice if they believe it was a mistake. A counter-notice must include your name, address and phone number; the material that was removed and where it was; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live (or, outside the United States, any court where we may be found) and to accept service from the person who complained; and your signature. We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly: three valid notices in 12 months.
LectureCam is operated by Techtronics Company (registration no. KG11655), C21-3F Unit, 2nd Floor, Yoshi Square, Block C, Jalan Padungan, 93450 Kuching, Sarawak. Telephone: +082485022.
AI-generated notes
Notes, summaries, equations and figures are produced automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the original material before relying on it. LectureCam is a study aid, not a substitute for your course, your lecturers or professional advice.
Plans and payments
- The free plan comes with the limits shown in the app and on our pricing page, such as a monthly number of snaps and notes and a number of photos per note. Monthly allowances reset on the first of each month.
- Paid plans are subscriptions. They are billed in advance, for a month or a year, and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. A plan bought on our website is cancelled on our website, under Billing. A plan bought in the iPhone or iPad app is cancelled in your Apple ID's settings — on the device, Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, or from Manage subscription in the app — at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, or it renews. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Your notes stay.
- Changing plan. Moving to a bigger plan applies straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the period; the amount is shown before you confirm. To move to a smaller plan, cancel, and choose the smaller plan when the period you have paid for ends. In the iPhone and iPad apps the App Store makes the change: a bigger plan starts straight away and Apple refunds the unused part of the current one; a smaller plan or a different billing period starts when the current period ends.
- Free trial. Where a trial is offered, it is for yearly plans, once per person and account, and a payment method is required to start it. You are charged the plan's price when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. We email you a reminder about two days before a trial ends. During a trial the smaller trial allowance shown before you start applies. In the iPhone and iPad apps the trial is Apple's introductory offer: Apple decides who is eligible, and any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Top-ups are one-off purchases of extra snaps and notes. Your plan's own allowance is used first. Unused top-up credits do not expire. Deleting your account also removes unused top-up credits, which are not refunded unless a rule in the Refund Policy applies.
- Fair use. Each plan also has a monthly AI-processing limit that protects the service from automated or shared use. If you reach it before your snap or note allowance, new notes wait until the next month; tell us at
Refunds follow our Refund Policy: a money-back guarantee on a plan's first payment, a refund for a renewal or a top-up you have not used, and a review of anything else. When a payment is refunded, the paid plan or the pack's credits end with it. Nothing in this section limits a refund the law requires.
Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or exposes us to legal liability. Where we can, we will tell you why. A suspension blocks access; it does not delete your notes. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal from the suspension screen or with the Appeal form, and a person will review it.
Paid time if we suspend or close your account. If we close your account because you seriously or repeatedly broke these terms, we stop future renewals of a plan bought on our website and do not refund the current period, unless the law requires otherwise. If we close your account for any other reason, or stop offering LectureCam, we will give you at least 30 days' notice where we can, and refund the unused part of a prepaid website plan and any unused website top-ups. App Store purchases are billed by Apple: cancel them in your Apple ID's settings, and we will help you ask Apple for a refund.
You can stop using LectureCam at any time. To delete your account, open Settings in the app, then Help & Terms, and tap Delete account; the steps are also at the delete-account page. Deleting your account closes it at once and cancels any subscription bought on our website. Your notes, photos and account data are kept for 30 days in case you change your mind — write to support@lecturecam.com to have the account restored — and are then deleted for good. A subscription bought in the iPhone or iPad app is billed by Apple: deleting your account does not cancel it, so cancel it in your Apple ID's settings first. The time left on a paid plan is not refunded automatically, so if you are owed a refund, ask for it first. You can also ask us to close your account at support@lecturecam.com.
Changes to the service
We are always improving LectureCam, which means features may be added, changed or removed. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you first.
Services we rely on
LectureCam depends on services run by other companies, among them our hosting and database providers, our AI provider, Stripe and the app stores. We choose them carefully, but we do not control them, and an outage or a change on their side can affect LectureCam. When that happens, we work to restore the service as soon as we can.
App stores
If you got LectureCam from the App Store, your licence to use the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). If it conflicts with these terms about that licence, Apple's agreement applies; these terms govern your account, your content, plans and our service.
If you downloaded LectureCam from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. The store is not responsible for the app or its content, has no duty to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claim about it, including a claim that it infringes someone else's rights; those are ours to deal with, as far as these terms and the law provide. You must also follow the store's own terms of use. Your licence to use the iPhone and iPad apps is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow. If an app fails to conform to a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund its purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for the apps. Claims about the apps — for example product liability, failure to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, or claims under consumer-protection or privacy law — and claims that they infringe someone's intellectual property are ours to handle, not Apple's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for the iPhone and iPad apps and may enforce them.
Disclaimers
LectureCam is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that notes it generates will be accurate. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose — exports are there for that.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 in Malaysia and the consumer laws where you live.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach, or for business losses such as lost profits, and our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and RM200 (or its equivalent in your currency). If we lose your content because we failed to take reasonable care, we will restore it from our backups where we can.
Claims caused by your content
If someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded, or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim, as far as the law allows. This does not apply to anything caused by our own fault, it does not apply to users under 18, and it does not take away rights you have as a consumer.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for a delay or a failure caused by something we cannot reasonably control, such as a natural disaster, a power or internet failure, or an outage at one of the providers we rely on.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, where LectureCam is operated from, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of Malaysia — except where the law of the place you live gives you protections, or a right to bring a claim at home, that cannot be waived.
General
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to whoever takes over LectureCam, and your rights under them stay the same.
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about LectureCam.
- We send notices by email or in the app, and they count as being in writing.
- Nothing in these terms makes us partners, or makes either of us the other's agent or employee.
- You may not use LectureCam if you are in a country subject to comprehensive United States, United Nations or Malaysian sanctions, or if you are on a government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we will update the date at the top. We will give you at least 30 days' notice, by email or in the app, of a change that is to your disadvantage, unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep using LectureCam after the change takes effect, you accept the new version. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect, and we will refund the unused part of a prepaid website plan.

Refund Policy
Effective 9 October 2026
This policy explains when LectureCam gives money back and how to ask for it. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the law.
Where you paid
A purchase on our website is paid through our own checkout (Stripe), so you paid us directly and we handle the refund under the rules below.
A purchase in the LectureCam iPhone or iPad app is billed by Apple, and only Apple can give it back: ask at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides those refunds under its own rules; when Apple refunds a plan or a top-up, what it bought is taken back from your account.
When we refund
These rules apply to purchases made on our website. A purchase in the iPhone or iPad app can only be refunded by Apple, as described above.
- Your first plan payment: a full refund if you ask within 14 days and have used no more than a tenth of the plan's monthly snaps (30 on Pro, 60 on Pro Plus). This includes the first payment taken when a free trial ends. Once per account.
- A renewal you did not mean to keep: a full refund if you ask within 7 days and nothing has been used since it renewed.
- Automatic refunds of a plan payment — a first payment or a renewal — are given once per account. After that, a person reviews each request under the last rule below.
- Top-up packs: a full refund if you ask within 14 days and none of the pack has been used.
- Anything else within 60 days of the charge: tell us what happened. We look at how much was used and may refund in full, refund part, or say no — and we tell you why.
- Billing mistakes — a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or the wrong amount — are refunded in full, whenever they happened.
Your account and your data
- Delete your account, in the app or by email if you no longer have it.
- Request a refund. The Refund Policy above says when we give money back.
- Appeal a decision, ask for a refund or report a problem. A person reads every message.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else in these documents: support@lecturecam.com.
